KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will work closely with the Home Ministry to combat drug abuse in the state, says Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

"I personally take note of the public awareness programmes involving drug abuse among the youth," the Chief Minister said during a National Anti-Drugs Agency programme held in conjunction with the state-level Anti-Drugs Day event in Tawau’s east coast district on Sunday .Hajiji said that the state government was serious about human capital development.

The Chief Minister said several initiatives have been outlined in the Young Pioneer Programme under the Sabah Youth Council to ensure the younger generation would avoid drug abuse and other social ills.
