Ugandan police say they have rescued an American woman and her driver who had been kidnapped by gunmen in a national park.

KAMPALA, Uganda — Ugandan police said on Sunday they had rescued an American woman and her driver who had been kidnapped by gunmen in a national park.

They were ambushed on April 2 in Queen Elizabeth National Park, a protected area near the porous border with Congo, according to Ugandan authorities. It remains unclear if a ransom was paid in the case of Endicott, who is from Costa Mesa, California, where she has a small skin care shop. In a Friday statement, the State Department said that the safety and security of U.S. citizens abroad is its highest priority.

When ransom is paid for a kidnapping, it is not a rescue. The kidnappers released the victims

I will not be visiting that motherland anytime soon! I would hope kidnappers would know I have no ransom money but how do I know that? Maybe they think anyone who can afford that trip can pay them. I may have saved for years.

If reacued means somebody paid the random, i guess she was rescued!

Americans just stay out of Africa, it's not for you.
