Two inmates were sent to hospital with puncture wounds, and a further three were assessed at the scene.

A lockdown on Sydney’s Long Bay Correctional Centre has been lifted, after a brawl between inmates erupted.

Prison guards were forced to use tear gas to break up the fight, and seven inmates have been identified as possible suspects in starting the violence after jail-made weapons were seized. Two inmates were sent to hospital with puncture wounds, and a further three were assessed at the scene, where nine ambulance crews as well as a specialist medical team were deployed.
