The rock band's 65-year-old lead singer told fans that cancer had been 'chasing' him for 29 years.

Rock band The Alarm has postponed its upcoming US tour after its frontman's latest cancer diagnosis. In a statement on the band's website, Mike Peters said the news had come as a 'bolt out of the blue' to him and his family. The band were due to commence their US tour on Thursday but the 65-year-old from Prestatyn, Denbighshire, has announced that he will no longer be able to travel stateside.

The tour, named Live Today Love Tomorrow, was set to begin on Thursday. 'I am still reeling from the consequences of this new and completely unforeseen diagnosis and doing my best to process what is happening,' he said. 'I'm grateful for the love and understanding of everyone affected by the tour postponement and hoping and praying with all that I have, that this is just a pause in the story of my life, and that normal service will be able to resume soon.
