The King has bestowed a prestigious honour upon future Queen Kate Middleton in recognition of her remarkable public service and steadfast support for the arts, Buckingham Palace announced.
The Order of the Companions of Honour, founded by King George V in 1917, is a prestigious institution limited to just 65 members at a time, recognising outstanding achievements in various fields, including the arts, sciences, medicine, and public service. In addition to Kate’s honour, several other significant appointments were announced on St George’s Day. The King appointed his eldest son, the Prince of Wales, as the Great Master of The Most Honourable Order of the Bath, an order established in 1725 to recognise exemplary service in the military or civil service.
