SIPTU calls on HSE to implement pay rises for health sector staff

SIPTU has demanded implementation of pay rises totaling €21m for over 7,000 support staff in the health service.

Mr Bell calculated the cost of implementing the claim for the support staff would be €17m - with a further €4m for the chefs. The job evaluation scheme agreed under the Lansdowne Road Agreement was to assess whether the roles of the staff in question had changed in any way that might entitled them to a pay rise.
