Former Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden has shared a health update with fans after announcing that he was having surgery. The David Metcalfe actor took to social media earlier this week and posted about being in hospital and he was having an operation on his knee.
He has since kept his followers updated as he shared a photo showing his bandaged leg and said: "All done!". He later shared: "Repair to meniscus, patella tendon and cartilage damage all done. Took 2 hours instead of the 45 mins they initially thought!"The star also expressed gratitude to the NHS and the treatment he had received at hospital in Harrogate. He said: "Can't tell you how amazing everything and everyone was at Harrogate District Hospital. Thank you.
Alongside the snap, Matthew said: "All fixed! thanks Heather for picking me up and playing nurse this week.” seemingly referring to personal trainer Heather Scott-Martin who he has been romantically linked to. It comes as Matthew decided to leave Emmerdale last September after 17 years. He went on to star in the stage musical Elf and later announced his split from wife Charley Webb back in November after rumours about their relationship. The former couple met on Emmerdale and share three sons, Buster, 14, Bowie, eight, and Ace, four.
