A family of farmers from the interior of the Keningau district is seeking assistance after one of their family members was diagnosed with pneumonia and is currently being treated at a hospital in South Korea. They are appealing to the government to help pay the hospital bill, as they are unable to afford it, which has now reached RM90,000 and continues to increase every day.

KOTA KINABALU: Keluarga petani dari pedalaman daerah Keningau mengharapkan bantuan selepas seorang daripada ahli keluarga mereka disahkan menghidap pneumonia sejak bulan lepas dan sedang dirawat di sebuah hospital di Korea Selatan.

"Pada mulanya, kami menyangka hanya jangkitan paru-paru biasa tetapi selepas seminggu doktor beritahu kami Eddy menghidap pneumonia," katanya kepada Bernama. “Bil terus meningkat kerana Eddy terpaksa dimasukkan ke wad untuk rawatan dan doktor tidak akan benarkan dia keluar wad sehingga sihat untuk menaiki kapal terbang pulang ke Malaysia,” katanya.Juitah berkata kes adiknya turut mendapat perhatian beberapa pertubuhan bukan kerajaan termasuk Solidariti Anak Sabah yang berpusat di Selangor untuk membantu menyebarkan berita itu.

"Sebelum jatuh sakit dia terus bekerja dan melakukan kerja-kerja sampingan kerana ingin jimat duit sebelum pulang ke Sabah," katanya.
