The medical profession of today, 'Fuck the Hippocratic Oath, we only care about protocol.'

This exactly what it seems ! Many people all over the land in hospitals are treated like this due to being aged . Similar circumstances . Treated , but treated half heartedly ! It’s a disgrace .

Info_Aus Wonder how many in our society aren't the most financially rewarding for the private hospitals or other services?

If that is the case then private hospitals have a duty to inform prospective patients of the age limit. However I do know that most private hospitals will send a patient to a public hospital if something goes wrong during surgery or recovery in their private hospital.

How dare they, are we living in a third world country ? Disgraceful.

All too familiar in the Lib/Nat Aust

The aged care Royal Commission will fix nada for our aged Australian's😢

From what I can see on the website, this is a Healthscope hospital. Perhaps people need to move their private health care / insurance to a provider that is not listed on the stock exchange. A provider that instead uses members funds to fund care of the sick and injured.

Why do I get the distinct impression we’re not getting the whole story here. Even the bit about the ambulence calling ahead doesn’t ring true. Where’s the investigative reporting. This story seems a bit flimsy & posted to drum up controversy 🤨

Mrs_Quickly Has ever been thus. All but a few private hospitals Australia wide do not offer complex care. Even those who do, send their really sick patients to public hospitals. Time to fund public hospitals properly.

I hope this gets recorded as a 'never event in healthcare'. One that should never ever happen.

Shout out to the Royal Hobart Hoapital - providing first class care to ALL Tasmanians regardless of their bank balance.

The most likely scenario is: HPH will now direct staff to ask for the age of the patient before agreeing to have a patient brought to them.

No longer about caring for people, it’s all about risk and profit.

She should sue them for the payments AND another very hefty fee negligence on the contract. Sue the private hospital little old lady.

As in “invisible?”

should be a full refund of all insurance payments coming back to her at the least.

Disgusting!
