A statement by Deputy Director , State House Media Unit, Mr Attah Esa, said the Permanent Secretary, State House, Mr Jalal Arabi, announced this on Monday in Abuja, NAN reports.
“This is to make sure that the facility is functional and serves the purpose for which it was established, ab initio.’’ ‘‘The overstretching of facilities at the Medical Centre by patients is some of the challenges the Centre has been going through. It wasn’t meant for that purpose. ‘‘But this new development means that services will be streamlined to a clinic that will serve those that it was meant to serve when it was conceived.’’
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Danjuma La’ah welcomed the proposal to make the SHMC fully functional and ensure that members of the first and second families used the facilities at the clinic.
₦1.03 billion to run a 'clinic' that's only to cater to the families of two citizens? How aren't Nigerians outraged by this?!! Unless I'm reading something wrong (and these journalists don't write in clear terms) all 'hospitals' operating with any less money ought to be closed!
