The former NFL running back swarmed in controversy died of cancer at the age of 76 on Wednesday.

O.J. Simpson celebrated his good health back in February in what would be his final post on X, formerly Twitter.Simpson, a former NFL running back, best known for being found not guilty at his ex-wife's sensational murder trial, died of cancer at the age of 76 on Wednesday.In a video posted to X on February 11, which was Super Bowl Sunday, Simpson was sitting in the sunshine by a pool in a 49ers football jersey and Titleist golf hat.

He started his professional football career with the Buffalo Bills in the late 1960s and was traded to the San Francisco 49ers before the 1978 season. He retired from the NFL in 1979.In 1994, Simpson was arrested and charged with the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman. After a trial that captivated a national audience, he was later acquitted for the murders.
