A series of health insurance changes come into effect on Monday for Australians with private health coverage.
Included in the changes is an annual premium increase, a decrease in medicare rebates and possible discounts for young people. Private insurance premiums will increase by an average of 3.25 per cent this year, which is the lowest increase in coverage rates since 2001.
It basically means more cost for less coverage.

Personally, I think the Lifetime Cover Loading should be abolished or at least have an amnesty to entice older Australians back into Private Health Insurance. There is no enticement or incentive for them at all. What about those who have already paid the premium for the next year? TBH only thing we use are dental cover for us and buying fancy designer sunglasses. Sometime I wonder whether it'd be cheaper to get them out of pocket rather than paying the private health insurance... :p
