Workplace Safety North is advertising for a president-CEO

The not-for-profit organization, which offers workplace health and safety training services for the forestry and mining sectors, is looking for a new president and CEO to head the group.

Mike Parent has been serving in the role in an interim capacity since October 2023. He replaced Paul Andre, who retired from the position in 2017 after six years. Headquartered in North Bay, the organization is one of four sector-based health and safety associations in Ontario. In addition to offering ministry-approved workplace health and safety training and services, WSN administers the Ontario Mine Rescue program, which is based out of the organization’s Sudbury office.

According to the job posting, the president-CEO will execute WSN’s strategic, operational, and financial plans, as well as ensuring it adheres to industry standards set out by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, among other responsibilities. The successful candidate can be based either at WSN’s North Bay or Sudbury offices.
