The Department for Work and Pensions will pay £737 a month to people with one of 25 health conditions after a rate rise. The government is set to increase all aspects of the Personal Independence Payment from today .

This means that people with a health condition or disability that impacts their daily life could receive as much as £184.30 per week, equating to £737.20 monthly or £8,846.40 annually. The amount awarded depends on how your condition affects you, with a health professional reviewing your application to determine the level of assistance required.

Regular checks are also conducted to ensure the correct support is being provided. PIP consists of two components, and the amount you could receive from the DWP depends on how your condition affects you.To qualify for PIP, you must have a health condition or disability that has caused difficulties with daily living or mobility for three months. These issues must be expected to continue for at least another nine months.

Typically, you also need to have resided in the UK for at least two of the past three years and be in the country when you apply, reports the M.E.N.
