A former NRL player and reality TV star has pleaded guilty to damaging a Sydney hotel room, an incident his lawyer told a court may be linked to an underlying mental health issue.

Daniel Conn, 38, was arrested in Sydney’s CBD in February after police were called to a Market St hotel following reports “a man had allegedly damaged a door”.

Under a section 14 order, a magistrate can deal with a matter without imposing a fine or custodial sentence for someone with a proven cognitive issue or mental health problem. “Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command arrived and arrested a 38-year-old man,” the statement said.Daniel Conn in his Gold Coast Titans days.His lawyer, William Slattery, declined to comment on the matter while it remained before the court.Conn is active on social media where he has amassed almost 250,000 followers on Instagram and posts about his fitness and sporting endeavours.
