Health experts suggest that taking iron supplements can help alleviate fatigue and increase energy levels. Lack of iron can lead to tiredness and weakness, even if not anaemic. Holland and Barrett offers iron tablets with vitamin C to reduce tiredness and fatigue.

Health experts say taking one particular type of supplement may help you feel less tired and give you more energy. If you often find yourself feeling sluggish or struggling to stay awake during the daytime, you may be lacking in iron. Although feeling tired isn't unusual, if you are plagued with fatigue most of the time, it might be worth checking in with your doctor. You may find you are anaemic, which is when your blood produces a lower-than-normal amount of healthy red blood cells.

This means your body is not getting enough oxygen-rich blood and a lack of oxygen can cause you to feel tired and weak. But even if you are not anaemic, boosting your iron intake may improve your energy levels. Holland and Barrett is selling a bottle of 180 iron tablets for £10.99 - which equates to 6p per pill. Or there's a bottle of 90 tablets for £6.99 (8p per pill) and 30 tablets for £2.99 (10p per pill). The tablets are also made with vitamin C, which also helps reduce tiredness and fatigu
