A Cork mum has told of how her disabled daughter’s mental health has deteriorated because the physical pain she is in is becoming too much for her.

If they do operate on her, she’ll be back in her wheelchair. There are so many excuses we’ve been given and it’s just so hard on her.”Antoinette explained: “She’ll tell me her hip is at her and I’ll do her physio with her if it’s really bad. She takes Nurofen to kill the pain off, but that’s it.

Antoinette told of how she had to take a knife out of her daughter’s hands to stop her from trying to take her own life, and that she has now been placed on suicide watch. “I’m waiting for her sister to get up, and I’ll go to bed for an hour or two just to get some sleep. I haven’t had any sleep since Monday, an hour or two here or there and that’s it, because I’m afraid of what she’s going to do. I’m absolutely terrified of what she’s going to do next.”
