The Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) provides specialized mental health counseling and support services for Indigenous women who have experienced sexual violence in Northwestern Ontario. The services include referral to external agencies for serious outcomes and community development activities.

At the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA), we celebrate and honor the safety and healing of Indigenous Women and Girls as they take up their leadership roles in the family, community, provincially, nationally, and internationally for generations to come.

The Indigenous Sexual Assault Worker is able to provide a full range of specialized mental health counseling and individualized and group services to support Indigenous women victimized by sexual violence and assault in Northwestern Ontario. Specialized services include support for and referral to external agency for serious emotional, psychological, and behavioral outcomes relating to sexual assault/violence. Services also include community development, consultation and coordination of educational/informational sessions. A minimum college diploma in Social Work, Indigenous Learning, or related field and a minimum of 3-5 years experience. Proven analytical and problem solving skill
