In an almost uniform response to the impending exit of Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, city and county publicofficials are urging the Trump administration to go bigger in its response to adolescents’ growing use of e-cigarettes.

In Washington, Gottlieb has been credited with taking on Big Tobacco and the e-cigarette industry. But health officials on the front lines say they want more federal action. Gretchen Musicant, who heads Minneapolis’ health department, agreed. “Their action so far is not demonstrable,” she said. As vaping rates among teens climb, the FDA has made a high-profile effort to address the public health concern without trampling on adults’ rights. The agency in 2016 classified electronic cigarettes as tobacco products that fall under its regulatory jurisdiction.e-cig manufacturers, saying the FDA would ban their products if companies didn’t take steps to combat youth vaping.

KHNews Ecigs are a serious threat to the tobacco industry. The tobbaco companies want kids to start smoking 🚬 and not sucking on juice. The lobby is actually a tobacco lobby pretending to be a health lobby.

KHNews This will work just as much as banning weed for teens works.

FDA proposes mammogram changes for first time in 20 years to identify breast cancer earlyWomen with dense breasts will be notified that they are at a higher risk of developing breast cancer and that X-ray results aren't always as accurate for them. Yes I have dense breast I found a lump in 1999 and was told it was dry milk. In 2013 they found a 10 pound tumor in that same breast. I was diagnosed with stage 3b inflammatory breast cancer. I was belittled, blackballed, and terminated by my oncologist. This is a good change. If a girl knows she has dense breasts, and mammograms aren’t reliable for her, what else can be done? Ultrasound, MRI? I couldn’t get the hospital to do an ultrasound even with orders from my oncologist. I hope this will make thorough testing easier.
