The clocks going forward is bad for our health, according to leading immunologist Professor Luke O'Neill. This means we will see slightly darker mornings and much brighter evenings. However, there is "very clear evidence" that daylight savings is actually bad for our health, according to Professor O'Neill, and we are more at risk of health problems such as heart attacks and strokes.
"The reason seems to be the immune system doesn't like it, which is what struck me in initially. There was one study done you can measure inflammatory proteins in your blood going up soon after the clocks change - there's some stress on the body. Professor O'Neill added that there are other studies which show your body is more equipped to fight infections in the days after the clocks change.
"So, it looks as if your immune system is slightly up a few days after - because your body is under stress is the idea - and if you get an infection, you can fight it better.
