YouTuber Ninja shares cancer diagnosis as he urges followers to 'get checkups'

YouTube star Ninja has been diagnosed with cancer. The gaming professional, who has more than 23 million subscribers, is now encouraging others to check their skin for signs.

The 32-year-old continued: "I had another dark spot appear near it, so today they biopsied that and removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it. I'm grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups."Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that starts in cells called melanocytes, which give our skin its color.

"Hoping for the best. Lots of love to Jess for being proactive as well," said gamer SypherPK. E-sports commentator Jake Lucky added: "Glad you caught it early man, hoping for the best."
