Finnish firm is renowned for making fitness watches so a set of sporty earphones seems like a logical step

Finnish brand Suunto is renowned for making running watches and now it has delivered a set of premium bone conduction headphones called Wing.

And most recently I reviewed the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds that implement an entirely different approach. They clip on to your ears and look like a piece of jewellery.Suunto Wing key features In the case of Suunto Wing, the earbud sits on your cheekbones, leaving your ears open entirely. The design ensures ambient sounds are not blocked, which a significant safety feature for runners, cyclists and walkers in busy environments.

The buds themselves are a covered in soft silicone and feel comfortable against your face. They are available in red or black. Suunto Wing sound quality Sound quality on open-ear headphones is never quite as strong as on traditional audio kit. But that’s not too much of an issue as these are aimed at an audience whose primary focus is not immersing themselves in music.

The buds have an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. This isn’t a waterproof rating but means they can be submerged in water up to a maximum depth of 10 metres for about 30 minutes.
