Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has announced the Peel Health campus in Perth’s south will receive a $6 million unit dedicated to drug withdrawal patients. He also promised $4.

5 million for an alcohol and drug clinic at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, a mental health emergency centre in Rockhampton, and another withdrawal unit and mental health centre at Midland hospital. Western Australia is recording the highest meth use in the country, where Labor’s funding promise will be well-placed to help tackle the ice problem.
