It is believed Catherine, Princess of Wales will not return to royal duties at Easter as was previously expected after the royal announced her shock cancer diagnosis on Friday night local time. Kate has remained absent from official royal duties since undergoing abdominal surgery in January, where she spent 13 days recovering at the London Clinic. The 42-year-old confirmed in a video statement the planned surgery was for an unspecified condition that was not believed to be cancerous.
Kate said she and her family now need “time, space and privacy” while she undergoes treatment, and she is not expected to attend the traditional Easter service next week. “My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery,” she continued.
