| Princess Kate has revealed that she is suffering from cancer and is undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment, as she sought bury weeks of intense speculation and rumour about her condition.
“This of course has come as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” the princess said in her video message. “But most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK,” she said.
“My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.”News of the princess’s condition comes as her father-in-law King Charles also undergoes treatment for cancer, making 2024 a tough and troubling time for the royal family.
A Palace spokesman said any further speculation or revelations would breach the princess’s right to medical privacy. “The Princess of Wales has the love and support of the whole country as she continues her recovery,” Mr Sunak said in a statement.
