Steve Edgington has resigned the position of shadow minister for prevention of domestic violence, saying he does not want to be a distraction.Jo Hersey will take over the portfolio, while Mr Edgington will retain his other portfolios.

In a statement on Thursday afternoon, Mr Edgington said he had resigned as the minister for prevention of DFSV. It follows a fiery Question Time in NT Parliament on Thursday afternoon, in which the Labor Prevention of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Minister Kate Worden, repeatedly called for Mr Edgington to resign.
