The Mexico City policy, also known as the global gag rule, is a U.S. directive that requires foreign organizations receiving U.S. funding to pledge that they won't perform or promote abortion.

The Trump administration’s “obsession” with attacking women’s reproductive health is putting women at risk, Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire said Tuesday in response to the decision to expand a rule prohibiting aid to foreign organizations that provide abortions.

"We will refuse to provide assistance to groups who provide funding to other groups [that provide or discuss abortion]," Pompeo told reporters on Tuesday."American taxpayer dollars will not be used to underwrite abortions." Activists from the Population Connection Action Fund look on as they project a message onto the Trump International Hotel, to protest the global gag rule, which bans health care providers that receive U.S. global health aid from referring, providing or discussing abortion with their patients, during a demonstration in Washington, D.C., on January 23. This Senator is a whacko who thinks killing babies is OK.

They should be happy that we're giving them anything at all.
