Fitness icon Richard Simmons is clarifying that he's not dying after alarming fans with an earlier social media post that he says was just meant to be inspirational: 'Sorry for this confusion.'

"Please don’t be sad. I am ….dying. Oh I can see your faces now," the fitness instructor wrote in his original post.implied that he's not long for this world in a social media post, the fitness icon and his spokesperson clarified that he is doing fine.on Monday suggesting he was anticipating his own death. “I have some news to tell you,” he wrote. “Please don’t be sad. I am ….dying. Oh I can see your faces now.

Simmons' spokesperson also confirmed that the fitness instructor is A-OK. "I can confirm with 100 percent certainty that Richard is not dying," Tom Estey told EW. "He’s, in fact, very healthy and happy. The sole purpose of the post was meant to be inspirational." The fitness legend also made sure to include dietary tips in his post. “Start with a healthy breakfast,” he suggested. “Do you like oatmeal…. Whole wheat toast ..eggs once or twice a week” or “Fresh fruit or half of an English muffin?” He also recommended a “nice salad” for lunch and eating dinner early.
