The Abuja electricity distribution company has said that a man – Tanko Lawal – who recently died from electrical shocks at the School of Health, Angwan NEPA Keffi in Nasarawa State was not its staff.
A statement from the Disco’s General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr. Oyebode Fadipe, claimed that the two men had illegally gained access to the distribution facility in the compound of the school to do a job for which they lack the required expertise and therefore did not take heed of safety rules that are absolutely necessary before working on any electrical circuit.
He added that from investigations, while students of the school played football, their ball hit the lines which twisted and created a fault that led to the dropping of two J&P fuses. “Electricity was only restored to the lines about 4pm on the same day of the incident, which was long after the electrocution which occurred about 11am.
