MELAKA: The state health department is investigating a claim that beef soup sold by a hawker at a Ramadan bazaar here was contaminated with fly eggs.
State Health Director Dr Ruzita Mustaffa said that action will be taken against the hawker if the tests conducted by her team confirm that the soup is contaminated. "We have taken immediate action to take a sample of the soup once the issue was highlighted on social media. "We will proceed with the next course of action once receiving the outcome of the laboratory test," she said after a health screening at the Alor Gajah Ramadan Bazaar on Friday .A woman from Johor Baru recently said in a Facebook post that beef soup she bought at a Semabok Ramadan bazaar on Wednesday contained fly eggs.
