In the two years since the buildings opened, police have responded to 762 calls, nearly half related to mental health

Carlsbad residents unhappy about the Windsor Pointe affordable housing in the Barrio will make their pitch Tuesday to the City Council. Crime, drugs and mental health problems at Windsor Pointe are making their neighborhood unlivable, the residents say. Some have suggested the city should close or move the facilities.

'The city and county comprehensively got us into this mess, they can comprehensively get us out of it,' resident Denis Jensen said in a March 5 letter to the City Council, county Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer and others.
