Giovanni Caselli invented the pantelegraph, the world’s first facsimile machine. It was capable of transmitting sketches and handwritten words over telegraph wires using non-conductive ink on tin foil. The receiving machine drew the image line by line with blue ink on white paper.
Bill Thompson was the voice of Droopy the Dog for Tex Avery, but when his acting work wound down, he became an executive at Union Oil in 1957 working in community relations.
