The inspirational Toy Show star sadly died earlier this week following a long and brave battle with cancer.

The Late Late Show has paid a touching tribute to Saoirse Ruane, who sadly passed away earlier this week after a brave fight with cancer.

At the end of the programme, he spoke about how Saoirse had inspired the nation from her first appearance on the Toy Show in 2020. "We can only imagine what Saoirse's family is going through tonight and we just want to add one thing to the many beautiful tributes paid to her over the past couple of weeks and that is thank you.

On Instagram, he expressed his sorrow: "It is with the greatest sadness imaginable that I've heard the news of my dear young friend, Saoirse Ruane's passing. We became friends instantly when we met. She told her story, the Nation fell in love with her and a charity began because of her and with that she helped enrich and encourage the lives of thousands of children in Ireland.
