The point of the event is when people get to the top and they're out of breath, we tell them 'yeah, this is exactly how people feel who have lung disease when they're just walking from their bedroom to the kitchen.' And so it kind of gives a perspective for what lung disease is like," said one organizer to WSYX.

According to the American Lung Association, lung cancer has been the number-one cancer killer for men and women since 1987. Advocates are also now working to educate people on the dangers of vaping and tobacco use.
