King Charles began his cancer treatment on Monday.

The palace has not specified the type of cancer, the stage of cancer or the type of treatment, but British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told the BBC that the king'sKing Charles III and Queen Camilla with The Reverend Canon Dr Paul Williams attend the Sunday service at the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate, Feb. 11, 2024, in Sandringham, Norfolk.

"I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days," the king said in a statement Saturday. "As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.
