A Glasgow nurse missed her flight home from Thailand after she fell off a cliff and was in need of emergency treatment. Kerry Hughes was looking forward to her new year trip away, arriving in the popular tourist hotspot on January 9. She planned to travel the Asian country for four weeks. Whilst enjoying her time on Ko Lanta, a Thai island, the 35-year-old decided to rent a scooter. On January 22 the nurse of nine years plunged 20 metres off a cliff face to the beach below with the vehicle.
