The FDA has warned consumers not to purchase or use more than two dozen brands of eye care products sold by well-known retailers due to the potential risk of eye infection. This warning comes after a serious outbreak of severe eye infections caused by a drug-resistant strain of bacteria.
The outbreak infected 81 people, with 14 losing their vision and 4 dying. The implicated products were determined to be artificial tears manufactured by Kilitch Healthcare India Ltd.
