The collaboration between police and the CPA will “jointly implement youth-targeted, evidence-based violence prevention activities, such as engaging high-risk youth and connecting them with the relevant social, economic and education resources,” city officials said. “These specially trained adults serve as a buffer between the youth population and direct law enforcement response and are a proven means of violence interruption,” city officials noted.
