The entertainment value of psychological warfare.

And its viewers, as well

Pretty hypocritical when TV shows go out of their way to cast nutcases for their 'entertainment value'

Reality TV. The world’s single greatest, most apt and most accurate oxymoron, ever. Ever, like, in all of history ever.

what aboit the mental health of the audience?

I thought putting mentally unstable people on public display was the main reason for reality television 🤔

Reality shows and social media have a lot in common just now. Over exposure to people unprepared for what that means and brings.

Agreed. What about the viewing public?

They’re already mentally ill for wanting to appear on these shows

Like taking all that rubbish off the telly in the first place.

Aren’t they already mentally ill?

No! Just don’t bloody air shite! Stop these film makers abusing and enabling these young kids 😡

the concept of shows like these put regular folk on a false celebrity podium... offering help is like setting an arm in plaster after first braking it... perhaps we should try more ethical programme concepts in the first place..!

Should start with primary prevention - refer all aspirants of reality TV to mental health services.

You have to be mentally ill to want to be on reality TV.

'Reality TV must do more to protect mental health of participants.' How about just not broadcasting their shows? That might work.

NOOOO! You must break them! That must be their pentance for being willing participants in the stupification of Western society!!!

And those watching ? Hmm

And stop scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Isn't the application to be on a reality show a cry for help itself? Maybe we start there.

Or realise that it fairly accurately reflects the reality of the state of mental healthcare in a large number of industries and communities.

No it definitely doesn't. They know what they are letting themselves in for. They'll do anything for fame and when it comes back and bites them they don't like it. How about they get a proper job like everyone else?

And audiences...

About time, narcissism takes a heavy toll on society.

And it’s viewers

Don’t go on the shows!
