Amy Dowden has been flooded with support from her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars and fans after she shared her fears of a heartbreaking side effect of her cancer treatment. .
The Caerphilly-born dancer then later confirmed after her surgery that doctors found another type of cancer, changing her planned course of treatment that may have seen her back in competition in the ballroom this series. Amy has, however, made appearances on the hit dance show and has been doing all she can to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Before her appearance on the programme, in an Instagram Story, Amy opened up about undergoing more chemo. The talented dancer appeared in bed while talking to fans as she said:. "I’m doing really well since last week’s chemo now – I’ve had a few side effects and a new one this time… neuropathy in my right thumb and second finger.”
But later, when appearing on Stand Up To Cancer with Davina, Amy shared another blow as a result of her cancer treatment. "It has been the toughest year of my life but I’m just really hoping with the surgery that I’ve already had and the chemo that I’ve done enough," she said.
