A self-described "fitness enthusiast", Wahlberg, 47, reached out to Australian F45 CEO Rob Deutsch to ask if he could get involved when he "fell in love with the concept" after taking his first class last November.
Wahlberg was "not comfortable" revealing how much money he - along with little-known family office FOD Capital - invested or what percentage of F45 they now own."We were certainly willing to put as much in as they would allow us to, that's for sure," he said. "That's how much we love the business." With a number of fitness-related investments already made, including into Aquahydrate, a water brand, and a natural workout supplement maker called Performance Inspired Nutrition, he doesn't plan on taking a back seat in the F45 business, with plans for expansion already on his mind."I will be as active as they will allow me to be based on all of my relationships and connections," he said.
While he is already underway with his ideas for the business, he has no plans to alter the 45-minute high-intensity, circuit training-style classes.
