Kuala Lumpur: Deputy health minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni is concerned that the increase in the cost of living may contribute to stunted growth among children.

“Pregnant women too, may not be getting the right nutrition to ensure that their child is born healthy,” Lukanisman said during the Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat. Lukanisman encouraged parents to allocate some time to prepare nutritious meals for their schoolgoing children.Giving the example of a Chinese school in Muar, he said the parents there came up with an initiative to prepare the same nutritious meals for all students and teachers, with community assistance.
