Chloe Goodman says shows need to provide proper mental health care to all contestants before it’s too late

Brad Wakefield - The SunChloe Goodman is calling on reality shows to provide mental health care for contestants following the death of her friend Mike Thalassitis

I last spoke to him on Friday, we spoke about his new night he was launching with his friend and we previously spoke about his new restaurant/cafe The Skillet, he seemed excited about the new business ventures he was bringing out.Former Love Island contestant Mike was found dead on Saturday night in a park in North London

There was nothing “muggy” about this hard working funny handsome man. The next emotion was my heart breaking for Megan Mckenna. If I felt such guilt that I hadn’t finished our conversation, I can’t imagine how she must feel. I’m praying she doesn’t blame herself or feel guilty for what’s happened. Your first six months to a year is a great one everyone wants to talk to you or know you, if they don’t talk to you, you can be sure they are talking about you.

More needs to be done! Producers need to start looking at talent as talent and not as a disposable commodity on a conveyor belt. An unacceptable 1,600 people under 35 die each year by suicide - a staggering three quarters of whom are men. “We can’t protect them from pain, but by having open conversations, we can make sure they know they have choices.”
