KUALA LUMPUR: Errant smokers who are issued a RM250 summons from July 1 for flouting no-smoking rule in eateries risk paying up to RM10,000 if they are hauled up to court, says Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye.

This should be something that every policeman, City Hall Enforcement Officer, and Health Department Enforcement Officer can keep their eyes open to — act when on duty, notify when off duty. Right DrDzul?

There's no enforcement. You should give huge fines to premises that allow people to smoke, then the management will be highly encouraged to stop people who do smoke.
