The Hawthorn Football Club could be forced to pay more than $1 million to Alastair Clarkson, Chris Fagan and Jason Burt as the AFL expects the club to"make good" with the former staff members and Indigenous players.

In May, the AFL completed its investigation into the Hawthorn review and found “no adverse findings” against any of the three mentioned men and did not rule out “bringing a charge under AFL rules against Hawthorn”. “I’m not going to be shamed into apologising and I have to say this is not a great start for the AFL administration,” he told The Age.

Among the alarming allegations was a report one player was pressured by a senior coach to terminate a pregnancy with his partner.
