These Declarations say nothing new. They offer no fresh commitments. They recycle the ancient promises.
The contrast between the work that Ala did then to pull that declaration together and the more recent one could not be starker. There's no doubt that Ala's hard work that he put in, the hard miles, gave a sense that we, as a global community, had to address noncommunicable disease, and it was part of a global package on health for all.
