Former SNP Minister Jeane Freeman has said that Humza Yousaf didn't handle the council tax freeze "particularly well".
First Minister Yousaf stunned council leaders on Tuesday when he announced a freeze to next year's council tax. The Scottish Government had previously indicated that it was hiking rates.Deputy First Minister Shona Robison also admitted the decision on the freeze was made only hours before the announcement.
"But I have been around conference speeches before I was in government and I know that there is always a pressure to have important things to say. Freeman said she would have seen more sense in freezing council tax for those on lower bands but not those on higher ones.
