The Sydney resident, who is aged in his 30s with an unknown vaccination status, developed measles a few days after returning home from Philippines.
The woman, aged in her 20s, developed the measles rash after arriving in Sydney from Bali on Qantas flight QF44 about 6.30am on February 21. Redfern Station Medical Centre and Redfern Discount Drug Store on Saturday 9 March between 10:15am and 11:15am, and Sydney Hospital on Monday 11 March between 10:30am and 11:15am.
“If you develop symptoms please call ahead to your GP so you do not wait in the waiting room with other patients,” NSW Health director Vicky Sheppeard said. Cases of measles had soared worldwide because of complacency by parents who were not vaccinating their children, UNICEF said.after a measles outbreak was confirmed as likely to spread across the South Island’s Canterbury region.
If only there was a simple and safe way to protect us from this.
Wonder why this is starting again hmmmm. If only we had a way of stopping it?
I was on that flight and got a call from NSW health a few days later, thank god for vaccinations...
