With the 737 Max under intense global scrutiny after two fatal crashes since October, Boeing is facing an escalating threat to its reputation and financial health.

An American Airlines Boeing 737 Max 8, on a flight from Miami to New York City, lands at LaGuardia Airport on Monday.

“The pressure is ramping up and Boeing’s reputation is at risk,” said Jim Corridore, an analyst at CFRA Research. “How Boeing reacts to this, how long it takes to fix this problem and whether people feel safe flying in their planes are unknown at this time.” Foreign aviation authorities have taken precautions after an Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max crashed Sunday shortly after takeoff in Ethiopia, killing 157 people. That followed a crash of a 2-month-old Lion Air 737 Max in October after it took off from Jakarta, Indonesia, killing 189 people.

Conversely, the 737 is “an extraordinarily popular airplane,” Kaplan said, adding that over the long term, Boeing’s reputation and financial health shouldn’t be badly hurt “as long as they solve this, because the fundamental economics of the 737 program are so very good.”

Trump and all of his cabinet members should be required to fly the 737 Max until this is resolved.

TRUMP TOOK 1 MILLION DOLLARS FROM BOEING TO KEEP THE PLANES FLYING. Add this to his list of crimes. Trump Boeing737Max

Not to mention actual people who could possibly die.

I'm sure Nikki Haley will save them, lol

This should alarm everyone:

Friend of mine was a check pilot with United, and he said that most third-world pilots had no manual piloting skills. All of them could only fly with computer assisted controls. Perhaps the problem is software failures, and pilots having no manual piloting skills.

Makes me not want to fly with Southwest Airlines :/

Pull your plane, Boeing. Is it worth your reputation and the lawsuits?
