A popular vitamin has been urgently recalled from hundreds of health stores and pharmacies — including Chemist Warehouse and Priceline — nationally. Metagenics Australia Pty Ltd has confirmed that it is recalling its Ethical Nutrients Mega Magnesium Raspberry Powder due to high pyridoxine content. The recalled product has an expiry date of July 2025 and the batch number 007764.

“Due to a manufacturing error, the pyridoxine content is twice the amount stated on the label,” the TGA reports. “This means that it slightly exceeds the 100mg maximum recommended daily dose. “Ingestion of excessive pyridoxine may cause tingling, burning and numbness.” The TGA has warned consumers to stop using the recalled product immediately. “If you have purchased Ethical Nutrients Mega Magnesium Raspberry Powder batch 007764, do not use it,” it said.
